Delete Your ProfGear Account & Data

This page explains how to request deletion of your ProfGear account and the personal data associated with it. ProfGear is developed by Infinity Computer Systems.

How to request deletion

1. Send an email to the address below from the email address associated with your ProfGear account (this lets us verify the request is yours).
2. Use the subject line: Delete my account.
3. In the message body, confirm that you want your account and associated personal data deleted. You do not need to include any other information.

We will process your request and confirm by email once completed. If you send the request from a different email address than the one on your account, we may ask you to verify your identity before proceeding.

What data is deleted

When your deletion request is completed, we delete the personal data associated with your account, including:

• Your account and sign-in identity (email address).
• Your profile information (display name, institution, wilaya, academic rank, phone number if provided).
• Content you have posted in the swap, mutual aid, and research collaboration features.
• Your contact-exchange records within the app.

What data is kept, and for how long

We retain a minimal record of any subscription payments (for example the tier, duration, amount, and date) only as long as required by applicable accounting and legal obligations. These records are kept for compliance purposes and are deleted once the applicable retention obligation ends. They are not used for any other purpose.

Please also note: if you previously exchanged contact details (email or phone) with another user through the connection features, that user already received those details directly. Deleting your account cannot retract information that was already shared with another user.
